A Brief History of Cornertone Assembly of God

Cornerstone A/G began in 1987 with a handful of individuals desiring to continue in fellowship with one another.

For the first month or so, we met at the homes of some of our original members.
As the group continued to increase weekly, we moved to a room at a local hotel.
Shortly thereafter, we began renting space at the IBEW Union Hall on Water Street,
where we remained for eleven years!

In 1989, we purchased over six acres of land on Outer Ives Street in the town of Watertown with the intention of erecting a church building. It seemed that everytime
plans were made to build, something would prohibit the plan from progressing.
But, we continued to pray for the perfect will of God to be done for our building needs.

In 1998, through a series of miraculous events, the Lord provided our current facility, which we purchased from the Christian Science Society for only $75,000!

Cornerstone A/G is affiliated with the Assemblies of God, the largest Pentecostal organization in the world. There are over 300 Assemblies of God
churches in New York State alone! Our district headquarters is located in Liverpool, N.Y., and the national headquarters is located in Springfield,Missouri.

Pastor Dominic Kriegbaum is the third Pastor since our inception. He and his wife Tracy and their three children have been here since June, 1996.
